Who we are
Dr. Tamara Weisman is a board-certified adult (16+) psychiatrist with over 20 years’ experience in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of a broad range of psychiatric disorders.
In addition to practicing for over ten years in private practice, Dr. Weisman was the Psychiatric Director at High Focus Center, attending Psychiatrist at Gouverneur Hospital, psychiatric consult-liason physician at North Shore Hospital, attending Psychiatrist at Samaritan Village Treatment Facility, and chief Psychiatrist at SPOP (Service Program for Older People). In recent years, Dr. Weisman’s practice has focused on young adults (college students and recent grads) and adults going through difficult life transitions.
Dr. Weisman was a psychology and pre-med major at Barnard College, Columbia University. After performing cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, she attended New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following her graduation from medical school and a one-year internship in internal medicine at Long Beach Medical Center, Dr. Weisman completed a 4-year psychiatry residency program at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Manhattan (Chief Resident).
